Brendan Fairclough brings freeracing to rampage

Rampage may be mountain biking’s most iconic freeride event, but that doesn’t mean racers don’t fit in. From Gee Atherton’s two second-place finishes (2004, 2010) to Cedric Gracia’s win in 2003, the precision and focus that racers have comes in handy in the exposed terrain of Utah. So does the go-for-broke attitude.

Brendan Fairclough has it all, and he brought it to the Utah desert along with three of his best mates. The result is a good time.

Fairclough, or “Brendog” as he’s known, competed in the past two Rampages with lines that prove not only that he can hang with the best freeriders in the world, but that he may be one of them. Of course, he attributes this to his racing experience.

Being a World Cup guy at Rampage only helps. Being comfortable with braking late in super steep, exposed stuff feels like something we do week in and week out in racing.
