With the short days and wet weather it’s easy to forgo riding for a few months but come Spring time you’ll be sorry you missed out on hitting the trails so rather than be defeated invest in some decent kit and enjoy the quieter season. The Madison Stellar jacket is the perfect jacket for both traveling to and then shredding the local trails. A perfectly good commuter jacket that will keep you dry and visible it still serves its purpose when you hit the hills. Notably light with a well thought out cut, it’s a jacket that you will never find distracting but when the rain clouds pounce (as they did on our first test) then it does exactly what you would hope a waterproof jacket would do – Keep you dry. And unlike many waterproof jackets it has ample breath-ability so when the weather does get wet whilst your getting warm you will not feel like you’re in a humidity tent.
It’s a well thought out riding jacket, with a perfect ergonomic cut, extra material in all the right place, adequately sized pockets, durable chunky zips, breath-ability and genuine waterproofing there aren’t many more things you could want from an £89.99 jacket.

We will be using this jacket all year long to see how it holds up in seemingly endless weather combos this country can throw up. So far though, for its £89.99 price point we’re pretty impressed. Full review soon.
