Morgane Charre’s Bergamont Straitline DH Bike
We checked out Morgane Charre’s Bergamont Straightline DH Bike, including a couple of surprises.
Bergamont have been running a World Cup team for a couple of years now, headed by the madness that is Eddie Masters. We had a good poke around Morgane Charre’s prototype Straitline and asked her for a few vital statistics.

Morgane is riding the size small Bergamont Straitline. It’s still in the prototype stage the moment, but testing is going well so expect to see something very similar in production soon.

She’s running 760mm wide bars, wide for her 5’4 (163cm) height, and a 350lbs spring. We did ask Morgane how much she weighed, against all the Britishness in us, 60kg.

The frame’s angles and dimensions are being finalised at the moment, so things like wheelbase aren’t set in stone (or carbon front end, aluminium back end for that matter).

Keeping her rubber side down, Morgan is running Minion DHFs front and rear at 1.6/1.8 bar (23/26psi). Out the front she’s running a regular tubeless set-up, but look a bit closer at the back wheel. One valve stem for a regular tube, the second for tubeless. The idea being that even if the tube punctures it’ll stay up using the tubeless.

A rarity on the race circuit, a set of flat pedals on a race bike. These Azonic numbers have clearly taken a beating!

The prototypes are pretty much in pre-production now, as soon as we can we’ll chuck a leg over one and smash it down some Welsh hills for a full write up.
Thanks Morgane!
