Game face on, it gets serious right now. The riders are walking the track and scoping out the fast lines. We’re there to put them off.
It’s good to see the UCI investing money to help further the sport. The UCI staff will be nice and cosy riding around in their brand new BMW’s (X6M, 540, X1), while the riders slog it out standing in the pissing rain uplift queue, how many easy up tents could one of these provide? #sharethewealthIf you asked world cup regulars to name a track with snow on everyone would say Andorra (standing at about 2600M). Yet at only 1595M Lourdes start hill was covered in snow, It’s fair to say it pretty bloody cold. Lourdes is located in the south of France, but it’s definitely not sunbeds and pina coladas. The bottom sits at 420m and the top of the track sits at over 1000m. Being so close to the Pyrenees fresh Snow falls happen. We had a taste of snow last year in practice, will we see more this year?Gwin TV- This is one of the men all eyes lie on this weekend. Gwin will be pushing hard. Some riders put his success down to his faith in God. The advantage of a mindset of whatever happens on track happens gives the man confidence. Others know that the time he puts in preparation and training is what makes it happen. One thing is for certain though, Gwin will be fast this weekend. The wall! This was the hot spot for trouble last year, crashes galore in the wet! Gwin looks on for lines. Some fresh sections for halfway down the track will make for a nice change to the riders. The high speed but relatively easy wooded singletrack section will is always a relief for riders, to get there head’s checked and heart rate down.Under the funicular tunnel and bang straight into the first 180 right hander. Not many first turns bear as good of a view as this though.Rocks anyone? Will it be 27.5 wheels that are best on these or 29ers!
