World Cup #1 Lourdes – Finals Photo Fix

If you looked at the RESULTS without seeing the action you’d assume that all the major players had forgotten how to ride a downhill bike in anger. The truth however, is that Lourdes took a hammering from the weather at the worst possible time and whilst not taking anything away from the podium finishers in Elite Mens, the end results probably didn’t reflect exactly how it would have panned out had the weather played ball.  Full results here

finals fix
A sight for sore eyes – mental fans. God love em, a world cup isn’t a world cup unless you have nutjobs with chainsaws, hats and horns
Pressure. It all comes down to this. All the hard work during the off-season counts for nothing unless you nail those vital few minutes.
An epic sight for any racer – the end.
Tracey Hannah found some form this weekend nailing in 2nd spot. Will a confident start to the season for Tracey mean an end to Rachel’s winning run?
Tahnee Seagrave will have had mixed feelings about her final run. After smashing in a blistering run in quali she’d have hoped to continue that pace into the finals but 3rd spot on a new team with a new bike is something to be pretty happy about.
finals fix
Nobody will be more disappointed than this man. Vergier had his game face on all weekend but the weather killed the chance for a victory. Roll on Fort William
Blenky hasn’t lost any of his supreme style. 20th spot.
We don’t think that Fayolle was expecting this one to kick off the season. He will know that the weather had its say but he still smashed in a rapid run and will have given him the confidence to know he can win races. Another player to add to the mix.
Kaos Seagrave on his way to his best ever World Cup result. An epic 2nd spot.
Tracey Hannah. Amazing run. Back where she belongs.
Dry and dusty. It wouldn’t last.
Manon was focused and ready to put the Radon brand on the Downhill map. She’ll definitely be gunning for a lot more come Fort William.
There isn’t really much left to say about Rachel Atherton. She is a force and seemingly a completely unstoppable one. Win number 17 – check.
finals fix
Finn Iles looks like he’s going to continue his form in the Juniors. Another win for the Canadian.
Gutierrez railing it on his way to an impressive 3rd place
finals fix
Bad day at the office for Matt Walker. Puncture.
Greg Minnaar. The new old man of the Downhill game. Still one of the fastest riders on the planet. Weather didn’t give him the start he wanted from 2017.
Florent Payet no doubt fired up at his home track in front of his fellow French fans. 4th.
Patrick Butler smashing it through the Rock Garden. 9th spot.
Andrea Bianciotto launching his Devinci though the rocky stuff. It didn’t help his final result too much. 15th
Sylvain Cougoureux gets intense on his Intense in the pedally section
The end in sight.
