The Cycle Show 2013
Last Friday we headed up to the NEC to check out the latest products to land in the UK…

The SR Suntour Rux is in the UK, well almost. We had a detailed look at this fork at Eurobike. Question is, are people ready to move from the Boxxers, 888’s and 40’s over to the likes of SR Suntour, X-Fusion and DVO? Join in this discussion on the forum. At 999 euros (waiting on UK price) we are not sure if this is going to be a winner just yet, it will need to prove itself. Once they land, we will bolt a set on a test rig and let you know.

Lazer helmets could be a good-un in the future. With Giro no longer being distributed by the Madison giants there will be a big push with this brand and first impressions are encouraging. The helmet has a unique cable tightening system which sits away from the shell to give a reassuring tight and close fit.

Another top feature is the integrated mount system. With each helmet (Retailing at £99) you will receive three mounts. One for a GoPro and then two others designed to take other camera or light mounts.

This isn’t a helmet as such, it’s just a cover. Loads of designs to cover up a large range of lids, just incase you want to look like a horse rider at the trails.

The World Champs GT Fury was the nicest DH rig we came across at the show in its patriotic skin.

Notice the cut down Continental Mud King. It’s been pretty loved by the Athertons this season, expect to see something like this in production very soon.

JVC had their all new little camera on show boasting a shed load of features. This unit is shock and waterproof straight out of the box, so you won’t be needing to conceal it in another shell. Both versions have Wifi and a full colour display and are more than capable of taking on their opponents.

Geax have a new all round mountain bike tyre, enduro if you like, called the Goma. The thread pattern is designed to open up to provide more grip when needed but roll faster in a straight line.

The 44 Racing Rockstar team had one of their team bikes heading up the Diamondback stand. One of the more simpler and elegant DH bikes on the market at the moment. We recently caught up with one of their team riders, Sean Radcliff in Racers Rides.

BMW, what are you doing!? This is their new full suspension bike coming in at just under 3K. Our favorite part of their well-researched engineering is the sweep on the bar.

The new Pivot Mach 6, beautiful. We will have more on this bike tomorrow.

Trek’s DH colour ways for 2014. The Session 88 and Session 8.

The DMR Bolt LT. We have been nailing this in the alps loads this season and it’s pretty unstoppable. Now we just have to wait for their longer travel version and new cranks!

The Vault, eagerly trying to catch up with the legend that is the DMRV8/12 pedals it now has a higher end version with a magnesium body and Ti axle. Available soon at around the 200 mark, get saving.

Want some more DMR bits on your DH rig, bolt on their new direct mount stem.

Let the suspension war being. X-Fusion RV1 HLR.

Prototype Formula DH brakes. Only two places you will find this, on Lorenzo Suding’s GT Fury and Mick Hannah’s Polygon. Neither of these riders want to give them up, we look forward to some more info on this.

Talking of Lorenzo, this is the man showing off his new clothing company producing high performance socks. We have a pair on test and will let you know the low down soon.

By a mile, this was the busiest stand.

The new Rose Unchained. This bike in this build will be £1993.75. Beat that?

Marzocchi’s wall is filling out with some epic new equipment. Expect to see the new 380 forks and Moto shock on our team bikes for 2014!

Cube landed back at the show this year with a massive stand. This is the Two15 Pro (£3099) and it’s one of the few Cube bikes left with 26 inch wheels.

The Trek Ticket S slopestyle bike is here, available in the UK frame only and in stealth mode.

The 2014 Specialized Demo 8 with its carbon body and Ohlins coil bedded in the centre.

We checked this one out at Eurobike, the KTM Lycan, looks beautiful.

The Czech Republic built tyre brand got their latest marketing a little lost in translation, fairs ok though. Downhill Extreme Adhesive (DEAD).

BMXs too small and twitchy for you? Cock a leg over one of these Faction 22” dirt jumping devices sometime, it could change your mind.
That’s us all showed out at the moment. But expect updates from loads more UK shows all releasing new equipment as we head into 2014
