Steve Smith Memorial Run at Fort William

It seems like the perfect tribute and it is surely going to add a truly poignant moment at the Fort William WC as we remember one of the fastest and most popular riders on the circuit

When Dominic Wrapson (AKA Hwulex) suggested a silent ‘ghost lap’ during either Fort William or MSA World Cup in honour of Stevie Smith the idea soon caught on and was gaining traction online. So much so that now the UCI have agreed to allow a memorial run in memory of one of the sports greats.

The UCI has decided to take up your idea to pay tribute to Stevie Smith. Together with Red Bull and our event’s partners we’ve decided to plan a memorial run in Fort William, UK, early June. Stevie’s passing away has been a shock for the Mountain Bike community and beyond. This dedicated moment will provide a fitting honour to “The Chainsaw” and will also celebrate his contribution to the MTB discipline.
