Seven Questions with Wade Simmons and Sean Reynolds
Back at Eurobike we fired seven questions to UK bike sales demon Sean Reynolds and freeriding legend Wade Simmons

Wade Simmons
What was the last piece of kit you paid for?
[Laughs] Sh*t that’s a hard one man, maybe a good jacket, a good outdoor jacket, like Arcter’yx so I’d have to say that, it rains a lot in Vancouver! Kinda about $450CAD, but we’ve all got hook ups because Arctery’x is a Vancouver company, so I got a REALLY good jacket, $750-800CAD at employee discount, so that’s probably the last thing I actually paid for. I buy my wife stuff really,
I pay for a little bit of kit for her, but man, I was just joking how I don’t have any style anymore, it’s just been free sh*t for 20 years!
What would be your ideal ride?
It doesn’t really matter where it is, there’s good trails everywhere. As long as you are with some good buddies, it’s always fun. I like riding with Tippie and Schley because all we do is banter, like we are a couple of Brits or Aussies, taking the sh*t out of each other. Those guys, Vanderham, any North Shore locals. I like the Shore, I like the alps, but there’s great trails everywhere!
What’s the worst question you’ve ever been asked?
Where my favourite trail is to ride, there’s so many good trails everywhere, I can’t answer that!
What product are you most excited about for next year?
Of course I’m stoked about the Maiden, it’s been so long with the Flatline that it’s awesome to have a new DH bike. I’m 42 now so I don’t do a lot of DH anymore, but this definitely breathed new fire into my DH love. Let’s go shuttle some more, I’m stoked! Secondly, I like the excitement of e-bikes! A lot of people pooh-pooh them but I do a lot of riding for about an hour and a half by myself, and with an e-bike
I can go so much further, like three times the distance!
So are we going to see the Rocky Mountain Maiden with a battery next year?
No! [Laughs]
What’s your guilty pleasure when riding bikes?
Freeride Flicks! I really like to squidge around and drift it in! People say when you are doing drifts you are tearing up trail but they just don’t know how to drift properly. It’s like the Scandinavian flick when you are driving, just give it a bit of a slide then whip it the other way for the corner.
Maybe I skid too much? Nah! That’s my guilty pleasure.
What’s the most Euro thing you’ve seen at Eurobike?
We were outside, following the #whatEuroswear action, and there was this guy with bright orange pants, beige shirt and a matching orange sweater. Holy sh*t, that guy is Euro!
I wish I had a photo for you!
