Nathan Hughes
What was the last piece of kit you paid for?
Well it was a camera, can’t really get sponsored on them! It was a Nikon d750, cost me 1800Euro so it was a cheap one!
For bikes, um, I don’t ride as much as I should any more1

What would be your ideal ride?
I’d go for a ride with the top world cup DHers. It’d be pointless so maybe they could give me ahead start and then I could pull over. I’d go with the Specialized guys, Gwin and Brosnan, because they are both going next level speed, and I want to see that first hand…. as they overtake me!

What’s the worst question you’ve ever been asked?
I don’t get asked that many questions. Probably “Are you going to Eurobike?!”

What are you most excited about for next year?
Excited to hear of at least one big new team on the scene, and the battle of the carbon big rigs! Not looking forward to Cairns world cup.

What’s your guilty pleasure when riding bikes?
Getting to ride without a backpack! Riding with a big backpack is the ultimate buzzkill, it throws your balance and makes you ride like a weapon! It’s entirely the bag’s fault, not the fact you’ve not ridden much later! Ilove the freedom!

What’s the most Euro thing you’ve seen at Eurobike?
Without a doubt, the Eurobike Fashion show! It’s unbelievable! It’s like CATS without the furry costumes, and more helmets. Also the stepper bikes, a real monstrosity with infusions of Taiwanese madness.

What’s the worst question you’ve ever been asked?
That last one!

What product are you most excited about for next year?
7iDP Transition Wrap knee pads, the transition has been really good, and it’s the next logical step for it.

What’s your guilty pleasure when riding bikes?
Cake! Quite a lot of cake, two slices more than I need!

What’s the most Euro thing you’ve seen at Eurobike?
Her! [Laughs]
