Rose Bikes BDS – Moelfre – Race Report & Photo Epic
We’ve got our race report from Fergus Ryan and stunning photos from Sarah Barrett capturing all the action from this past weekends BDS at Moelfre.
Last weekend marked the Return to Moelfre for the 5th round of the BDS. This track gets both Love and hate by racers, as it is as fast as it gets with speeds of 44mph being reached, however it also has a lot of straight sections and a long field section at the top.

The racers arrived as usual for track walk on Friday to find some new jumps and improved corners to help riders keep their speed on the track. There were also some new alterations to the field sections dropping off the side into the quarry instead of round it .

The weather was overcast all day on Saturday with many hoping for a little rain to calm the dust down on the track. This dusty flat out track however had all the racers with smiles on their faces, loose corners mixed with some new jumps was making for good riding.

With Some rain over night the track was running “perfect” in the eyes of the racers and the hot sunny weather is always sure to put a smile on peoples faces. Qualifying went off and with joe smith on 2 back to back victories eyes were on him to win , however Matt Simmonds came down into first place with a storming time. Manon keeping it smooth and qualified 5 seconds faster than Katy Curd who sat in second place.

Come race runs both Manon and Matt kept their heads to take first place in both categories making it a Madison Saracen dual victory for the weekend. Some great racing with amazingly tight times by all categories
