Racers Rides – George Gannicott
George Gannicott is the second of our Racers Rides series. We catch up with him and take a closer look at his loaded Transition TR500.

First off, who are your sponsors for this year and what category do you ride in?
My sponsors are – Marzocchi Suspension, Transition Bikes, Clif Bar, Dainese Clothing, I-Cycles, Phunkt.com and Club Sport Ettrick and Lauderdale. I race in Elite.
Can you give us a break down of the full spec of your bike?
Marzocchi 380 forks, Marzocchi Moto C2R shock, Hope Tech Enduro 650b wheels, Gravity Light stem, bars, seat post and bash guard, Sram 10speed drive chain, Crank Brother mallet pedals, Formula RO brakes and a Fizik saddle – about 4 years old and still going strong!

How much does it weigh?
On the home scales its 35lbs.
Have you done any mods to it?
No modification just fiddled with bar height, never felt the the need to change anything else.

Any interesting or standout features?
The Clif Bar ‘sticker’ isn’t actually a sticker. It’s a cut out of an energy bar wrapper stuck underneath the bike tape!

Is there a particularly type of track or terrain where the bike really shines?
The TR500 is awesome in rock gardens and rocky tracks. I was blown away at Lourdes and the first time I rode Fort Bill this year!

Where do you practice most?
Local tracks about 5 mins from my house.

Sum up your bike in three words
A fast armchair!
Cheers George. Good luck this season!
