Middleburn Components Calls it a Day

Pretty sad to see one of the stalwarts of cycling has immediately closed its doors. UK based Middleburn components has ceased operations with immediate effect.

After being on our ‘Go-To’ list at next weeks Eurobike it looks like we won’t be seeing them there at all. The Hampshire based company have been a name in cycling seemingly forever and we will definitely their lust worthy products.

From Cycling Industry News –

“Hampshire’s Middleburn Cycle Components has closed, the brand has confirmed to CyclingIndustry.News.

A favourite among custom bike builders and retro aficionados, the business started simply as an engineering firm and grew to become a specialist in the cycling market, becoming particularly renowned for its chainrings and cranksets. In 2011 the business moved its machine shop all under one roof and begun to experiment with new products and materials. Matthew Starey of Middleburn said that the assets will be sold off in the near future and is hopeful that the name may eventually re-appear.”
