Eurobike 15 Extras – Loaded Precision
Back at Eurobike we took some time to speak to the guys at Loaded and I had a look to see what they had on offer.
At Loaded Precision in the US, they strive for perfection and pride themselves on setting a bench mark for quality and design. From what I saw at Eurobike, they have good reason to be proud of what they do. Good looking parts and great quality, what more can you ask for.

Loaded design and produce a fine looking range of wheels, pedals, bars stems along with other finishing bits and pieces.

Their AMX pedals run on 4 sealed bearings and 2 bushings in each side, platforms measure 110mm x 100mm. They are available in Alloy platforms with either CroMo axle (320g) and Ti axle (245g). At their thickest point, the pedals are only 12.9mm thick, good for those who like their pedals on the thin side.

Loaded have produced these ‘No Slip’ grips for use in wet weather, just the type of thing we may need here in the UK very soon. They have been designed with input from US Navy Seals, their experience in the water has brought us this, the AMX No Slip Grip. Initial impressions were good but hopefully we’ll have some on review soon and we’ll be able to give them a proper test. Their end-cap design is clever in that the grip tightens down on to it, keeping it in place, the end-cap then becomes a part of the structure of the grip.

Want some wide bars? 800mm not quite enough for you? Then these AMX carbon bars from Loaded might just be fore you. At 840mm, they are some of the widest bars I’ve come across, they of course have pre-marked sections for cutting them down to your preferred length. To keep the strength up and the weight down, Loaded have developed a type of carbon including Nano Elastomer Infused Resin. This involves filling in the gaps between the carbon layers with the resin.

As well as their carbon bars, they also have a good range of alloy bars, 31.8/35 clamp size, 790/810mm wide, 25mm rise.

The AMX Trail Stem has been designed around the 35mm clamp size and the increasing width of bars, the 63mm wide face plate is just what you need to accommodate the 800mm and wider bars on offer. They say that with the combination of wide clamp and faceplate, you can feel the difference in stiffness.

Loaded’s AMX Carbon wheelset is available with either Loaded hubs or DTSwiss hubs, available in 27.5 with the following axle options – front, 9, 15mm – rear, 9x135mm, 12x135mm, and 12x142mm.

“This combination provides the rider with a wheelset that is built specifically for the demanding conditions of today’s modern All Mountain and Trail Riding conditions. AmX Wheelsets are incredibly strong and extremely durable” – Loaded.

Back in the day when I stared racing downhill, there was a particular brand that produced particularly wide rims, I used to really get on with them. That’s why I’m excited to try these Loaded X-40 carbons wheels. With a hookless rim at 40mm external, it’s close to my favourite wheels from yesteryear. Available in 27.5, 15mm front and 12×142 rear (with Q/R adaptor sold separately).

From what I saw at the show, all the gear looked really good and it’s all finished to a really high standard. Hopefully we’ll have a few items on test soon, then we can see if it works as well as it looks. My guess is that it will.
