Eurobike 14 – Bonus 1

Eurobike is massive, and we’ve all got a load of extra exciting things to be showcased. Here are just a few more.

Aerozine have a new, lighter version of their X-One crank. A neat touch is the slotted adjustable length to tweak the fit. While more of a roadie thing, it should work for trail riding as well.

Don’t worry, her feet aren’t getting wet!

We’ve had various sets of Seal Skinz waterproof socks over the years, and mostly they have been super bulky and a bit awkward. Happily they are now working with a bunch of riders to refine their range with some new styling and thinner options.
IMG_9287
Seal Skinz were also showing off a full range of gloves and some cool tech to try and get the thickness down and get some decent winter gloves for burly riding in their selection. They are still developing at the moment and knowing that they are working with riders such as Sandy Plenty and Traharn Chidley there are good things to come from these guys.

Shimano now have a cheaper PRO direct mount based on their Atherton model.
IMG_9268
Shimano really need to work on the names for their shoes.. these are the M200 Premium Trail/Enduro Shoes. They do look good though with a reinforced toe-box, ratchet securing and a carbon stiffener in the sole.
IMG_9265
There were various ways to have a go with the XTR Di2 shfiting including turbo-trainers and a virtual reality headset thing. It took some getting used to, but certainly did some clever things – the front mech (does anyone still run one?) tweaks as you shift to ensure a perfect chain line.
IMG_9264
None of this distracts from the fact that if you turn your bike upside down to change a puncture hundreds of pounds of shifters will be taking the weight as they sit proud of everything else on the bars….
IMG_9263
Is this the pimpest umbrella stand ever? Manfrotto arms and clamps don’t come cheap but for the crew filming Danny Mac’s Drop and Roll tour their monitor needed some coverage.
IMG_9257
e-13’s cranks get a full graphic refresh, as well as tweaks to the taper at the end of the axle to improve strength. While the original was good they were keen to make it even stronger.
IMG_9254
The DH wheels were looking super-pimp as well with machined rims to save weight and carbon bodies to the hubs.
IMG_9252
The machining allows e-13 to shave weight without compromising strength.

The LG1+ chain guide gets a fresh design with a removable lower roller, a single size of boomarang is paired with three different sizes of taco to suit different chain ring sizes. Apparently a number of bike manufacturers are even speccing DH bikes with this guide, but with the lower roller in the box rather than fitted.
IMG_9251
The TRS+ shares many of the LG1+ features but in a more trail bike sort of way.
IMG_9250
The inside of the top guides now features a rubbery layer. This reduces noise – inspired by folk using velcro inside the guides to do the same.
IMG_9245
The Santa Cruz Bronson gets some sexy new colourways, as well as now being available in two flavours of carbon and an aluminum option. We are pretty excited by the idea of putting together a steath-genta build!
IMG_9281
NS Bikes have previously only really made dirt jump bikes, but with the arrival of their Fuzz DH bike, and the growth of “Enduro” sees them launch the Snabb, a 160mm travel, 275 wheeled trail bike.
IMG_9280
The Snabb is available in two builds, and you can also swap the dropouts and run 26″ wheels if you really want to.
