Cycle Show 2017- Part 1- Danny Hart’s 20K bike, New Schwalbe’s plus tyres, E bike Supercross, Matt Walker Champs Bike & more-

It was almost like Anaheim 1 out there today as the cream of the UK cycling industry trade and press tested all manner of E bikes! There were some epic wobbles and a whole load of panicked faces!
Fair play though it was quite an impressive track! Could we see an E bike Supercross sport emerge? Imagine it! Sure would give 4x riders something more to do!

Matt Walker had enough of hanging around in his world champs jersey at the Saracen stand, so he cleverly replaced himself with a mannequin. It did the trick as we saw Dirtmag standing there for a good 20minuites asking the champ questions, before rumbling off.

This is the first bike ever with 29er wheels to win a DH gold medal at World Champs.
Another beauty of a paint job by Fat Creations.

Saracen also had their flagship 2018 Enduro machine on show – Killi Flyer

Saracen says they will give 1x gum sidewall set and 1x extra black sidewall set with this bike just in case you don’t like the gum wall. Seems there’s a bit of a love/hate split for the colour at the minute!

Schwalbe was our favourite visit today as they showed us that you can use their tyre cutters as a bottle opener. And well you know the beer was open so…..

Schwalbe had their full range out, from street cruzer to world champion winning full DH spikes. This year they came out with a whole load of new compounds called ‘Addix’. We like the colour coding of the compound as it makes everyone’s life a whole lot easier, as well as even more grip than before.

New for 2018 is the plus size Magic Mary and Rock Razor. This combo looks insane. Literally a tractor could use these things! You certainly wont be struggling for grip with these.

Schwalbe have a gum wall option on only one of their tyres. They explained it’s only worth doing on their lightweight sidewalls as the manufacturing on process for adding it on to the others adds considerable weight and complication.

Snow Spikes- Who is brave enough to run one of these in a welsh bog this winter??

WD40 brought the full fleet to the cycle show. Rally car, superbike and Danny Hart’s WC bike.

We like the stats, but were not sure about the 20K price tag on Danny’s bike though?!
Catch Part 2 of The Cycle Show later today!
