CSG 2016 Product Launch
We head to the Williams F1 Factory to see what CSG had to showcase for 2016. With new products from Cannondale, GT, Charge and Fabric.
The Cycling Sports Group 2016 product launch took place at the Williams Formula 1 Factory. Quite an impressive location and being surrounded by cutting edge technology, photos of some of the greats of Formula 1, not to mention some of the most famous F1 cars in the history of the sport it was hard not be distracted. But there were some equally impressive new products from the likes of Cannondale, GT, Charge Bikes, Fabric and Sombrio to keep us focused.
GT Bikes
GT had there 2016 Fury’s on display. Sat inside the Gazebo of the Atherton Racing Team the Fury Elite, Expert and Top of the line World Cup look more refined every time we see them. Clearly the investment from GT and influence of the Athertons is really starting to take hold.

The Zasker was one of the bikes of the show. Everyone wanted to take a look at it despite the fact it’s been on the scene for 25 years. As it is the anniversary of the all-time classic hardtail the Zasker has had an overhaul for 2016. 275, full carbon versions and updated geo makes the Zasker a playful, lively XC weapon, all day shredder and more over the fun agressive hardtail we remember from back in the day.

Cannondale
Cannondale were obviously the biggest presence at the show. What really caught our eye were the new Fox Dyad RT2 Dual Shock equipped Jekyll 275’s. An Enduro ready race machine, the Dyad shock can be flicked between modes which will alter the geometry of the bike. A bar mounted lever will switch the bike between Elevate Mode – making it steeper and more nimble and Flow Mode which alters the Geo to a more relaxed, lower and stable mode for descending.

Charge Bikes
Charge bikes biggest new was the release of their 27.5+ Cooker. All of the Cooker’s will now be 25.7+ equipped. Charge are confident that this wheel/tyre size will be the next big thing, particularly for the hardtail and entry level world of mountain biking. The cooker certainly looks right with 27.5+ and unlike fat bikes don’t look utterly ridiculous. An abundance of grip should be on offer and a fun ride without ludicrous fat bike looks. Could be a winner.

Fabric
Fabric are really stepping things up and have some beautiful and innovative technology in areas that are often overlooked. We were particularly smitten by their ALM saddle. About as minimilistic as a saddle can get. We don’t know whether we’d mount it on a post or a wall.

Sombrio
Sombrio had a some great looking kit on display with full on race kit to more casual styled trail shredding gear. We expect to be seeing more of their kit on the trails next year.

Atherton Racing Euro Truck
We got a sneak peek inside the Athertons European Race truck. It’s a hell of a rig and at half a million pounds for the trailer alone it should be. Literally a home from home. We also want one of the these.
