BTR Fabrications launch the 2013 Belter

The 2013 BTR Belter; a hardtail frame designed purely for sending it downhill.
Like all of our frames, the Belter is 100% handcrafted in UK by Burf and Tam, from initial concept to finished product. The first generation of the Belter has been tested and raced for well over a year now and we have come up with a few changes to improve the frame even further.
The Belter is now compatible with both 150mm and 160mm travel forks and features a ZS44 standard head tube. This makes the frame compatible with 1 1/8″, tapered or 1.5″ steerers, or even an Angleset. So whatever steerer your forks have, this new headtube can take it. To accommodate the extra 10mm of travel, the BB has been raised slightly which makes it easier to get the pedals in mid race run and increase that winning margin.
We have also swapped the top tube for a plain gauge Reynolds 525 tube. This decreases the weight allowing the bike to be even more chuckable on the track.
Our mech hanger has seen some adjustments, so that it is compatible with the standard 12mm axle and the optional Maxle, allowing for upgrades at any time. The dropouts have had a little re-shape to shave a few grams off, and our signature X gussets have also had some modifications to further reduce weight.
The gussets on the headtube bring an extra 15% stiffness to the front end of the frame and their new curved shape reduces the stresses in the tubes.
