Rides really well.
Very active, but not overly draining when pedaling, and nice bottomless feeling when deep in the travel.
The Manitou shock I had on it wasn't right as it over extended the linkage and made the initial stroke to restrictive
(It was a 230mm i2i not 222mm like the frame needs, but didn't realize when I bought it cos it was shorter when deflated, and was sold as 222)

Just so happened I still had the DHX5 Air Kashima it came with, as I'd had it up for sale to help the bank balance.
So put that back on and it's very very well tuned for the frame.

If you do stump for a reverb, they're cheapest from www.alltricks.com (~£200 shipped)
Got mine from there, 31.6mm, 150mm drop, right hand remote, all fitting and bleed kits.

Pic of my dropper routing:

Not been riding enough recently so been getting tempted by upgrades......:-[

Soooo.... here they are:
Xfusion Vector Air HLR

Manitou Mattoc Pro 27.5 160mm, HLR + Bottom Out, 15mm Hexlock

and sods law mu current carbon front wheel can't go 15mm.... so......
Had to build myself up a new one! ;D
Dati M5 15mm Hub, Carbon AM Rim (30mm), Pillar 1422 bladed spokes and alloy nipples.

659g ain't bad in my book! (should really include the rim strip and valve tho)

Just have to finally sort out stripping the frame down for the black anodizing.
This just seems to be taking a wile to get finished off... Ooops

Finally got the new bits fitted.
Not sending it off for anodising till I've had a good few rides to bed her in ;D.
Emanon chaindevice on its way..

Temporary front wheel for the moment, as the carbon rim had issues when seating the tyre.

And it's arrived!

Very very tidy bit of efficient german engineering, and super adjustable.
Really smooth and quiet slider plates.

But finally got it back from Steve the anodiser today and got the graphics on it.
A rough picture for the mo:

After doing some back to back testing with both the Vector HLR and the Kashima DHX, I decided to stick with the DHX.
It's much more sensitive at the beginning of stroke, and as tunable as the HLR is it's feels like it deaden's the rear end.
Be it from shaft stiction or the overall damping tune, it just never felt supple enough against the forks for a balanced ride.

Went all out with the drivetrain too.... KMC DLC black-red chain, SRAM X0 Type2 mech, and X0 shifter.

So I'm finally done..... this is now my perfect bike!

P.s. Now i just need to get fit enough to ride it uphill as fast as it deserves.

It's finished!   Looks pretty flash, bold move with all the red.  What rotors are they?
Change is good! Ride It Out.

The rotors are Alligator Aries 203mm.
Had them for a couple of years now, and highly recommend them. (probably getting close to replacing them now.)
Lightweight, but with a decent even pad sweep so you still get good power and no premature pad wear :).

This morning the first comment from the missus was...... "Would look better with black forks.. the reds don't match.." LOL. ;D

The Mattoc's are lovely!
Super supple, and zero initial stiction.
Getting close to having to sell them though, as my old forks aren't selling and I'm not riding my bike enough :-[.

Hi bud,

Saw your advertising these...

Can I run them at 140mm in 26" mode ?

How long is the steerer and what would the A-C height be at 140mm in 26" mode ?

Pm me as if I can get enough money together by end of year... ;-)
Thinking of upgrading from X FusionRL2 Velvets which I get on well with great!
Unsure gow stiff these Mattocs would be compared to my X Fusion tbh?
