Guy Rides Bike Faster

Max Horner was on a tear this year. Consistent, improving race results had him in contention for the NAET overall. He was living in Whistler, coaching for a living and riding bikes every day. He and I were shooting, riding, bouncing video ideas and talking shit all the time, and for all intents and purposes, he was having a pretty perfect season.

But Max had a crash a few weeks ago that serves as a reminder that anything can happen, even on familiar terrain and well within your limits. He wasn’t pushing it and he wasn’t doing anything particularly gnarly—he was at work, coaching his group of shredder groms, and keeping them in check when he got knocked offline by a root… which resulted in a dislocated hip and fractured acetabular cup. Two surgeries and a lot of Netflix later, he’s doing well and on the road to recovery.

So here’s what Max and I were working on before his injury. We’re stoked to present: Guy Rides Bike Faster.
