e*thirteen TRS Tyres – First Look
e*13 are probably best known for their chain devices, but over the last few years they have been expanding their range of components including a set of tyres designed for the battering a modern trail bike can dish out.

The TRS tyres come in one tread pattern, two compounds, and 275 or 29 sizes. The TRS Race is a triple compound tyre, while the TRS Plus has a firmer dual compound. Other than the compound both types are the same, featuring reinforced sidewalls and a folding bead, as well as being tubeless ready. The tyres come in at 870 and 900g respectively.

Fitting was a doddle, they inflated without tubes or any fancy compressor faff first time and seated perfectly. They are labelled at 2.35, and run at that width, giving a well rounded profile with aggressive side knobs and a well spaced central set of ramped and laterally cut knobs.

The first few rides on them have been great, offering a predictable grippy ride on both loose loamy trails and ragged rocky ones. The big rounded profile makes cornering feel like a boss, and the aside knobs hook up really well.

The only shortcoming is the price, with an RRP of £67.99 they aren’t cheap, but have real potential to be a great investment.
I’ve been really impressed with the TRS tyres so far, and look forward to some more mucky weather to give them some real hassle!
