Eurobike 16 – Formula Selva
Formula expand their fork range, introducing the Selva; an enduro-specific, Boost only air sprung, 650B or 650B+/29er fork.
The Selva is availble in 120 – 160mm travel, or an ‘extended’ 170 – 180mm travel version in 650B only.

Externally the Selva is pretty conventional. Formula have cut to the chase in offering only Boost spacing, and only 650B – 29er, but apparently it’s available for either 20mm axle or 15mm.
The air spring is also a conventional item, comprised of a single positive air chamber, backed by dual negative coil springs.

The damping side is where the fork gets interesting. The Selva damper is similar in layout to RockShox’ Charger damper, and features external rebound and two compression adjustments.

The high speed adjuster is lever-operated, and allows the fork to be fully locked. The adjustment is variable though – even when using their remote.

The low speed compression features 21 clicks of adjustment, and the valve can be swapped out for soft or firm tunes (the Selva ships with a medium valve installed). These are removed using a simple tool, and don’t require any bleeding or oil-based faffing.
