One Vision Global Racing joins with Nicolai
One Vision Global Racing joins forces with NICOLAI Bikes for 2016
After a successful first season in 2015, One Vision Global Racing goes forward into 2016 with some exciting changes to the team. German bike company NICOLAI will now be supporting the team with their great bikes for the world cup season. The team is also going to be helping NICOLAI develop a new downhill bike with the help of the expertise of Chris Porter of Mojo Suspension. NICOLAI are famous for their ability to custom make bikes to a rider’s specific size and geometry requirements, so the team are really looking forward to taking advantage of this awesome opportunity.
Team owner and rider Jack Reading is excited with the move:
‘We had a great first season in 2015, and I would like thank all of our sponsors for their support to make the team possible and put us on the map. As a result of our 2015 success, we have been given this fantastic opportunity to work with NICOLAI. Personally it is a very exciting move for the team, as I am going to be working with NICOLAI, and Chris Porter, to redevelop their DH bike. I have been riding their bikes over the last few weeks and I am very impressed, so I can’t wait to get racing next year on NICOLAI bikes!’

There are some changes to the team line up for 2016. Pete Williams is leaving the team, and is going to focus on enduro racing in 2016. The team would like to thank Pete for his efforts in 2015, and wish him all the very best moving forward with his racing career. James Hurst, the team’s junior rider in 2015, now moves to expert and stays with One Vision Global Racing as the team’s youngest development rider. Everyone is hoping James will keep improving and find his feet on the world cup circuit in the coming years. The talent and speed is there for all to see.
Jamie is excited for another season on the team:
‘I’m absolutely buzzing to be riding for One Vision Global Racing again for the 2016 season! 2015 was a crazy season for me. It was a dream come true going to the world cups and travelling with some of my best mates racing bikes! The sponsors last year were awesome and I’m even more excited to have new sponsors joining the team for 2016. I think it’s pretty cool that we will be riding Nicolai bikes because it allows us to make a bike exactly how we want it and from what I’ve experienced it’s already like a rocket! I get such a good vibe from the team which pushes me to keep going faster and faster. I can’t wait for 2016!’

There are two exciting additions to the team for next year. The first is 20 year old world cup racer George Gannicott. George is a great young rider and the team has high hopes for him in the coming seasons. In 2015 he achieved his best world cup result to date, finishing 36th in Windham, America, showing he has some real talent on the world stage. With the team’s support we hope George can build on results like this and make his way up the results sheet in 2016.
George is pretty excited moving forward into 2016:
‘Is it 2016 race season yet??? Very happy and excited to be a part of One Vision Global Racing for next year and have the incredibly passionate support from the Team’s sponsors. We’ve already had a weekend together as a team and it was awesome, we’ve all got a desire to succeed and can have a laugh doing it. After trying the Nicolai recently it’s fuelled my fire to get racing even more, let’s have it!’

The second addition to the team is 26 year old UK elite racer Will Jones. Will has been juggling racing and a full time profession as a carpenter over the last few years, and has shown a real talent for racing. He has attended two world cups before, his best result being 69th in Norway in 2013. He is prioritising racing for the 2016 season and is going to make it his first proper world cup season. The team hopes to provide him with the support and guidance he needs to raise his game and become a consistent world cup top 80 rider.
Will can’t wait to get his 2016 campaign underway:
‘Words can’t describe how much I’m looking forward to the 2016 race season! Not only am I super excited to be riding for One Vision Global Racing, but also to be riding a new bike after 6 years of riding for the same brand is awesome. I’ve ridden the Nicolai already and it’s great, so can’t wait for my race bike to arrive! I’m so grateful for the opportunity, help and support from the team and all of their sponsors. I’m looking forward to a season of racing bikes at the highest level, with some of my best mates and the support of top products!!!’

Jack’s feeling on his team mates for 2016:
‘I really can’t wait for 2016. Bringing George Gannicott on board is very exciting for me! I have been riding with George on and off at races for the last few years and the boy has real pace. Having him alongside me at world cups to help in practice will only be beneficial for both of us. Mr Will Jones, what can I say about my best mate? I have everything crossed hoping he will have the season he so desperately wants. He gives racing and training 100%, so bringing him onto the team is very exciting for me personally, and I hope I can help him achieve his goals. He’s also the king of banter, so there will never be a dull moment in our race pit next year that’s for sure. James Hurst, or ‘Chep’ as we call him, is a rider I’ve been coaching for the last few years. He has talent coming out of his ears and commitment in abundance, so I have no doubt he’ll be joining us in elite and world cup racing for 2017 after next year in expert!’
The final development with the team setup, is that team mechanic Alex Bennett of Ticky Bikes, will be joining the team at all of the world cup rounds for the 2016 season to keep the bikes running perfectly. Alex is a very talented mechanic with a wealth of knowledge, so having him at the races will be a massive advantage for the entire team!
Team manager Phil is looking forward to 2016:
‘Setting up the team has been an ambition of Jack’s and mine for some time. The success of our first season has been encouraging and leads us to be even more hopeful for some great results in 2016. Starting as a rooky team is not easy, but it’s great fun and very satisfying when you see riders enjoying the support we can provide. The 2016 season, with NICOLAI and all our other fantastic sponsors, looks like it will be a great one.’
The team has a fantastic line up of sponsors for the 2016 season and would like to thank all of them for their valued support:
NICOLAI, Mojo/Fox, ONeal, Pacenti, Schwalbe, Hope, Clif Bar, MRP, Fusion Design Studio, Works Components, Ticky Bikes, Rock Guardz, Dirt Factory, DNA Sports Performance, East Coast Air Brush.
