British Cycling’s National Downhill Mountain Bike Series Round 6, Antur Stiniog on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th of September 2015.

Make a trip to the BDS part of a big day out: Ride any of the trail centers in the morning and then come on over to the BDS in the afternoon. Race runs will begin around 14:15 on the Sunday starting with the Juveniles and finishing with the Elites around 17:00.

Many thanks to Pete Tomkins and Alex Rankin for the kind permission to show these films. Doors open at 20:00 and the admission price is £5.00 per head. The first film will start at 20:15 so please drink responsibly!

The Course: Man made obstacles are in abundance along the whole length of the course with several large jumps and berms. The finish arena is small in size and will be surrounded by crowd barriers.
Riders are advised to wear suitable protection that they think suitable, walk the course prior to riding and ride within their own ability level.

Medical: Medical: Remote Medical Services will provide full medical cover both on course (In a 4×4 vehicle) and from an identifiable Base Station with an ambulance in the event arena. Five medical personnel will be in attendance (One Paramedic and four EMT’s). They will be located at the end of the first building on the left hand side as you drive in, just before the large metal weigh bridge.

The Quarry. Please do not venture into the quarry, this is a dangerous area. We are obliged to provide extra security to restrict all access to the quarry itself. Please obey all instructions and signage and stay out.

PARKING: Please understand that to bring you exciting venues and tracks we have to sometimes compromise on other areas. Parking at Antur Stiniog is very limited so please work with the BDS team and your fellow competitors and spectators to ensure we can accommodate everyone as best we can. You may have to cross the main road. Please use extreme caution when doing so and follow the Green Cross Code.

Camping: Is in the quarry over the road from the venue and is on hard standing ground. Spectators the charge is a total/maximum of £10.00 per pitch which covers both nights or one night. BDS Racers the charge is a total/maximum of £5.00 per pitch which covers both nights or one night. You must leave site by 19:00 on the Sunday evening of the event. Please do not venture into the quarry, this is a dangerous area.

Security: Will be onsite both Friday and Saturday night of the event. You are advised to lock away all of your possessions.

Pro Pits Parking: The finish arena car park is strictly for pro teams and retail/service pitches only and you must be pre-booked in to park there. Only one team vehicle is permitted in this car park. Additional vehicles will have to be parked in the car park over the road in the quarry. No caravans or tents will be permitted.

Racers driving in each day: Parking is available on both Saturday and Sunday over the road from the venue in the quarry car park and will be free of charge. Please do not venture into the quarry, this is a dangerous area.

Spectators: Parking is available on both Saturday and Sunday over the road from the venue in the quarry car park and is free of charge. Spectating admission charge is £5.00 per adult. For children there is no admission charge. Please bring the correct change if possible. Please do not venture into the quarry, this is a dangerous area.

Please do not park on the main road as this may result in the Police closing the event down.

Public Announcements: A PA system will be on site with announcements throughout the day. Toby Parodi, the voice of the BDS will be on hand all weekend. A Notice Board will also be on display in the Race Office/Rider Registration area for displaying information regarding the event.

Catering: On site Catering providing fresh hot and cold food and refreshments from: Friday – 08:00 – 21:00, Saturday 07:30 – 21:00 and Sunday 07:00 – 18:00.

Toilets: Toilets will be provided, including women-only facilities. All will be serviced on Saturday evening and re-stocked throughout the weekend.
4x Mobile Toilets in the camping area, two by the uplift and there will be mains toilets in the cafe building along with a further 6x Mobile Toilets by the cafe building.

Skips: One 18 yard skip will be onsite.

Casualty Evacuation Procedure: This document will outline the procedure that Staff of Antur Stiniog DH + Freeride Centre will follow in the event of a casualty to a rider / member of the general public who will require medical attention, whilst on site. An emergency vehicle ( 4×4 quad ) will be located at the Visitors Centre for use by authorized personnel to access area’s of the track quickly, to assess the severity of any injury’s sustained by riders who require medical attention.
If the injury is minor, and the casualty can be driven back to the Visitor’s Centre, the decision can be made to apply first aid on site, or transport to Allt Wen Minor injury unit in Porthmadog.
If the injury is severe and the air ambulance / ambulance service has to be called, dial 999 immediately and ask for the ambulance and police mountain rescue teams. All other relevant numbers, grid references, and site address and postcode can be found on this document. The designated First Aider should immediately contact the Emergency services, clearly stating the address, and post code, and any relevant grid references to aid in the rescue.
The Centre Manager, or his appointed Deputy should be informed of any incident that has occurred on site, irrespective of the severity of the injury.

Juvenile – Riders must be in the year of their 13th or 14th birthday.
Youth – Riders in the year of their 15th or 16th birthdays.
Junior – Riders in the year of their 17th or 18th birthdays.
Senior – Riders in the year of their 19th birthday then the Senior category is the appropriate aged based category. See below for how riders can attain Expert or Elite status.
Master – For riders aged 30 to 39.
Veteran – For riders aged 40 to 49.
Grand Veteran – For riders aged over 50

Uplift Procedure: 8x Mini Buses and Trailers will be used to transport riders and bikes up the hill. Riders will be separated from their bikes. We will provide an uplift marshal at the pick up point. We aim to lift at least 200 riders per hour. The uplift route at no time crosses the race track.
To maximise track time, we suggest you are at the uplift pick up point for 08:45. The last uplift will leave at 17:30 and will run constantly all day.
The uplift pick up point is located next to the main site entrance on the left. To access the uplift please walk or ride around past the medic station and toilets and queue in an orderly fashion.
