Remap Clothing – First Look

Remap are a fresh brand bringing some roadie tech to mountain bike clothing. We check out some of their range.

Based on the Channel Island of Jersey, Remap have been launched recently by enduro racer Rich Payne and Mark Evans and are aiming to bring a level of  road bike tech to mountain biking gear. We have on test their mountain bike jersey, a gillet and a pair of padded bibs.

The jersey is a simple and well fitting polyester number, cut for dh and trail riding without being overly baggy, with a wicking microfibre material to keep you cool. Available in the rowdy camo as shown here, or pimping purple leopard print on the sleeves these tops really let you make a bright statement!

RRP £39.99

The bib shorts are not something we review, but with the rise of enduro racing, and the continued enjoyment of mountain biking a good padded short is something you should be thinking about. A tight stretchy fit and a thick comfy pad are key features, as are the thin and shaped shoulder straps. Obviously lycra padded bibs are underwear, and not to be worn on their own in public, but should you have totally forgotten your baggies, they feature the same rowdy colour schemes.

The gilet is made of a windproof and breathable fabric that is a little stretchy as well. Round the back are a few roadie style pockets and a zipped pocket for your phone with a little port for your headphones. A high collar and a snug fit will keep the worst of the weather off, and it’ll stuff down really small to go in a pack or pocket as an emergency layer.

RRP £64.99

I’ll be rocking the Remap gear as the weather becomes/carries on being miserable to see what filth it can withstand. Check back for a full review in a few months.
