ION – Eurobike 2015
A few more bits and pieces left from Eurobike. This time we take a look at the latest gear from ION
Surfing specialists ION are continuing with their great cycling range into 2016, here are a few of their latest offerings –

ION have a good range of gloves and having used their Ledge glove for the past year, I do find them very comfy. This new GAT glove is a lighter weight glove but not quite as minimalist as some gloves on the market. There’s a little more material on the fingers for added protection while the palm is a single piece to avoid irritating seams.
-Features – Overinjection Protection/Seamless Protection/Digital Tip/Neoprene Cuff/Sanitized/Nose Charmer/Silicon Print.
-Sizes – XS/S/M/L/XL
-Materials – 50% Lycra/22% Nylon/18% PU/10% Neoprene. Price – £34.95

Also from ION, this waterproof riding glove called the Neo, with their background in wind surfing, I’m hoping for a lot with this glove. Come the winter, hopefully we’ll have a pair on test and be able to give you more information.
– Features – Tatex Seams/Long John Sleeve/Nose Charmer
– Sizes – XS/S/M/L/XL
– Materials – 58% Neoprene/42% Nylon. Price – £59.95

ION also have this, the new K-Lite-Zip knee pad with a zipper down one side to ease getting it on and off. From previous experience, this has been a great feature and I can’t wait to try them. As with a lot of their products, this includes Sanitized materials to help prevent bad odours from bacteria etc.
– Features – Thigh Match/Snug Loop/Ionic Fit
– Sizes – S/M/L/XL
– Materials – SAS TEC/Air Prene/Sanitized/Power Aramid. Price – £74.95

I seem pretty pleased with this new jacket from ION, the Radiant Insulation jacket. It’s packed with Primaloft to keep you warm on the cold days, but to stop you getting too warm it’s got ‘Thermo Mapping’ in all the right places.
– Features – Primaloft/Thermo Mapping/Wind Hater/Reflective Details/Clear Optics
– Sizes – S/M/L/XL/XXL
– Price – £147.95.

There are currently many bags on the market that tackle this issue of ventilation, bumbags, low riding bags, the list goes on. ION however have gone down a new route and developed a bag that can be used in a different position while climbing/descending.

The Transom backpack can be re-positioned to create more ventilation while climbing, the bag is pushed away from the hips at the bottom. This creates a sizeable gap between the bag and your back. While in this position it felt good and secure during my quick showroom test.

Even without this shifting system, the bag still has good amount of ventilation built into the rear. Available in two sizes, 16L and 24L, big enough for most people’s all day needs.

Inside, there a plenty of pockets as you come to expect these days. These help you keep all your gear in place and prevent you having to dig about in the bottom of the pack for that lost tyre lever or your house keys.

These are the small loops on either side that quickly allow you to alter the position of the main pack. Slide them back to increase ventilation on the climb, pull them forwards before descending to bring the bag snug into your back.

The bag also has a large section of SAS-TEC padding included, fully certified and removable. As far as this type of material goes, this very lightweight so it shouldn’t provide any issues there.
-Features – Air Condition System/SAT TEC/Flex Panels/Ripstop Fabric/V-String Carry System
-Sizes – 16/24L
-Price – £134.95/£149.95 – SAS TEC Protector – £22.95
