They’ve been quiet for a while but, as with their lovingly handcrafted mountain bike frames, BTR Fabrications have taken their time to get things right. Today their fresh website and new bikes are released to the world.

With new-look gussets, huge rider input and BTR’s typical attention to detail, the line-up of frames – now available through the company’s web store – is stronger than ever. Figuratively and literally, of course.

“Now that we’ve reached the ripe old age of three-and-a-half, we figured it must be time to don our big-boy pants and face the world square on. We’ve gone full overhaul: namely a redesign of our entire range of bikes, but our website has had a good lick of paint too.

It’s taken us a long time, but we’re only human so we hope you’ll understand. We’re incredibly proud of the changes we’ve made – they’ve taken great deliberation, decision and toil – and we hope you’ll love them too.” – BTR Fabrications

BTR RANGE EXPANDED

BTR have added four new models to the range, detailed below:

The Chaser.
Simple, masochistic, rewarding. This horizontal dropout 29er is built purely with riding a ridiculously long way in one gear in mind.

Chaser

The Chaser XC.
A geared version of the Chaser, featuring BTR’s new 142 x 12 dropouts. The Chaser but for those who like a little less burn.

Chaser XC

The Blinder.
The dirt jump weapon. Built purely for trail use and abuse, featuring horizontal dropouts and an integrated seat clamp as standard.

Blinder

The Ripper AM.
A more versatile descendant of the original Ripper (which lives on as the Ripper DH). The new Ripper AM is an all-mountain or enduro frame for riders aged around 8 – 12 years, and features 24″ wheels and dropper post cable routing.

ALL FRAMES NOW CLEAR LAQUERED AS STANDARD

BTR have found a way to dramatically improve the durability of a clear coat! This is mainly achieved by a pre-treatment of the steel, allowing a much stronger bond between the clear coat and frame. They’ve even found a way to integrate the BTR logo into the finish, so there are no stickers to peel.

This will be the only option available from the web store (you can still choose from over 100 colours if you contact BTR directly to place your order).

FAREWELL BTR X-GUSSETS… SORT OF

Traditionally BTR’s trademark, the X-Gussets will no longer be featured at the head tube or seat tube of any frames, having been replaced by the new Tubular Gusset. The new version is every bit as effective as the XG in terms of strength, stiffness and weight, plus it’s a lot cleaner looking.

You’ll still find a descendant of the original X-Gusset between the BB and chain stays on many of the hardtails though, as well as in the swingarm of the Pinner.
