The fit
Comfort with a lid you are going to be holding on top of your head all day is a pretty important factor. Sadly you can never really know how comfortable a lid will truly be until you take it out on that first lengthy excursion so it’s a gamble when you spend 3 minutes (if that) with it on your head in the shop. We can safely say that the Oasiz lid won’t cause any comfort issues. With its huge easy to locate size adjustment dial you can refine its fit in tiny increments to nail a perfect level of comfort and security. Certainly when we’ve been on some tough climbs with sweat dripping into our eyeballs being able to just slacken off the lid instantly has been a god-send. It also tightens evenly around your head so you don’t get any irritating tight spots.

Performance
It’s hard to gauge if a lid performs ultimately, unless you smash your head into the ground but beyond that you really want a lid that doesn’t cause a fuss, stays in place, fits well with glasses and goggles, and comes equipped with extra features. The Oasiz scores on all fronts. Hitting the rootiest of trails that rattle your brain around in your skull has no such impact on the Oasiz lid. It sits firmly in place, thanks again to its ultra-adjustable fitment. Other lids on similar trails have become a distraction when they rattle around or begin to slide backwards or worse, forwards down onto your eyebrows. The Oasiz sits tightly in place.

The Go Pro and Light mount on top of the lid is a really great extra feature. If night riding is your thing being able to mount your lights with the included brackets, directly to your helmet without straps or sticky 3M pads is a real selling point for the Oasiz.
Initially we were a little put off by the magnetic buckle on the chin strap. It seemed a bit tricky to find its joining point but once you get used to it, it’s a really clever little design, allowing you to clip-up with ease, particularly with gloved or icy fingers. It’s definitely a winner for us.

Due to its wrap around styling it does instill a confidence that the helmet is providing a good level of coverage of your skull. We particularly like the deep back area of the lid which is so often overlooked with helmet design. Though we haven’t yet had a spill with this lid the volume of coverage around your head is a comfort. You actually feel like the Oasiz would do exactly what it’s designed to do, should the worst happen.

When the goings been warm (we have a had a couple of warm days) then the large vents have been priceless. Out of all the lids we’ve tried this one has so far been the best when it comes to directing air flow. When you pick up some momentum the vents direct air all over your skull so effectively it would perform as a pretty decent hair dryer.
The Look
We love the visual styling. Taste is a personal thing of course but Lazer have got the aesthetic of this one just about right. It isn’t overly bulky nor does it look flimsy. The colours are bold and we really like the solid pastel colour options. It just looks right.
Verdict
For its price point you’d expect it to be a good lid and thankfully it is. It has really stunning styling, a fit that can be precision tailored, it stays absolutely planted on your skull on the very roughest trails and the addition of the easy to locate adjuster and magnetic buckle means that some real thought has been put into its features. You expect quality from Lazer Helmets and with the Oasiz they absolutely deliver on that front.
