Fort William World Cup – Highs Vs Lows

There were definitely a few lows at this years Fort William World Cup but we’re fairly certain the highs cancelled them out. Chris Lazenby captured the moments.

H-L Rain At Top
Things didn’t start well with the miserable weather. Saturday was a right off. No practice, no qualification, no fun.

H-L Miserable Marshals
While everyone else is concentrating on riding their bikes or chilling out watching the racing, the poor marshals have to endure all the rain and wind up there all day with very little shelter. Hat’s off to the often unappreciated marshals.

H-L Struggling Mud
Some struggled more than others with all the mud up in the woods, it’s probably fair to say that everyone struggled with it at some point. It’s one of those rare occasions in sport where it both looked difficult and was difficult.

H-L Injured
The long, rough track at Fort William can bite and bite hard, thankfully this guy managed to ride down and race again another day.

H-L Manon Aftermath
There’s always a lot of pressure on the bearer of the rainbow stripes. Manon took a risk with a big huck into the finish area, unfortunately it didn’t pay off this time but she still finished the day with a podium… and fair amount of bruises. Heal up Manon.

H-L Emotions
You have to take the rough with the smooth in life and sport tends to encapsulate that truth very succinctly. Rachel Atherton enjoying one of the good moments in her racing career.

H-L Peat-Greg
One of the first on the scene to congratulate Greg was his teammate Peaty. These guys now have 34 World Cup wins between them spanning decades. Legends

H-L Katy's Podium
After many years racing 4X, Katy Curd has made the move over to downhill and this weekend she managed to secure her first World Cup podium. Good job Katy.
