Pearce Cycles #2 – Kinsham. Race Report
It was the second round of the Pearce Cycles Series At Kinsham this past weekend. Check out our race report, Helmet Cam and photo epic.

Dry and dusty conditions met the riders at Kinsham for the second round of the Pearce Cycles Series. The track, which took a new route down the hill for 2015, boasted some challenging riding in places, whilst having a quick and flowing lower section. It wasn’t as much of a challenge to ride as other venues but was made a challenge to push yourself on. All involved made the most of a rainless few days, the sun beaming down on the riders for the duration of the weekend reflected the atmosphere throughout the weekend.

The hospitality was second to none, a fantastic uplift service was in action for the large part of the weekend, allowing riders to get in numerous runs(average of 18 during the hole event). Being a mountain bike race there is always going to be a few casualties, on this event three large crashes were swiftly dealt with by medics, a big thank you to them is in order for their continued support at races. Speedy recovery to all those that picked up injuries!

The culmination of the weekend’s action on Sunday was met by the great atmosphere up and down the track, many came to cheer on and support the riders. Brendan Fairclough ran out as the winner of the Elite Men’s with a time of 1:46:350, closely followed by Matt Simmonds, with Hope Tech’s Adam Brayton only 0.029 seconds off silver settling for third. A couple of riders worth keeping an eye on in the future are the Barrett brothers. Younger brother Harry Barrett smashing the Juvenile category and Matthew Barrett nailing 3rd spot just fractionally off 2nd in Seniors.
