Altura Attack Gloves & Shorts – First Look
Chris Lazenby has got some new items from the guys over at Zyro, from one of their big brands, Altura. The slate quarries of Wales seemed the perfect spot to test them out.
Altura produce a huge range of products from performance road gear to urban and leisure wear. The Attack range features their products aimed at the ‘All Mountain’ sector and for 2015 Altura have revamped the range. Here I take a first look at the Attack 180 and 360 gloves as well as the 180 baggy shorts.

Attack 180 glove –

This is a minimalist glove for those that like the protection of wearing a glove but without the bulk. Personally, I’m a fan of the pull on cuff without the velcro strap. I know this isn’t everyones cup of tea but I like a simple glove and these fit the bill perfectly. Good fit, great bar feel, sweat/nose wipe and silicone finger tips. A small extra bonus is that they work really well with my iPhone screen too.

Features:
- Tough flexible outer with a supple palm for more bar feel.
- Hard wearing breathable mesh fabric
- Synthetic leather palm
- Micro-suede sweat wipes
- Silicone cuff pull
Options:
- Sizes – Small, Medium, Large, XLarge
- Colours – Black/Neon Green
Price – £24.99
Attack 360 Glove –

These are slightly more heavy duty than the 180 gloves but still quite a lightweight glove. The main extras over the 180 are the velcro cuff strap, more padding in the palm and flexible knuckle construction. As they still aren’t a heavyweight glove, they offer the same great bar feel as the 180 glove but with that feeling of a bit more protection.

Features:
- Premium protection with a supple palm for better bar feel.
- Hard wearing breathable mesh fabric
- Synthetic leather palm
- Flexible knuckle construction
- Low profile hook and loop cuff adjuster
- Micro-suede sweat wipes
- Silicone cuff pull
Options:
- Sizes – Small, Medium, Large, XLarge
- Colours – Black/Hot Red
Price – £29.99
Attack 180 Baggy Shorts –

The Attack 180 shorts are a great option for all day trail riding, relatively light and great stretch. Mesh panels in the right places for good ventilation and they aren’t too long either which I find with some shorts. The twin waist poppers seem good and secure while the velcro adjustment on either side of the waist helps give a good fit. The zipped pockets are a reasonable size but not so big you’ll be stuffing to much in there should you fall on them.

Features –
- Light durable fabrics for riding trails all day, every day.
- Soft touch 4 way stretch high-wicking fabric
- Hook and loop waist adjusters and twin waist poppers
- Hard wearing rear stretch panel
- Front zip pockets
- Mesh panels for front and side ventilation
- Removable inner short
Options:
- Sizes – Small, Medium, Large, XLarge, XXLarge
- Colours – Black
Price – £69.99
With the summer starting to make an appearance up north, these will be getting out and about over the Moors more and more so watch this space for further reviews coming soon.
