Calum McGee – Up and Coming

The Scottish Junior DH category is a fiercely competitive one. Calum McGee got in touch with Glen Thomson to put together this edit to demonstrate his skills amongst a field of seriously skillful Junior riders.

Calum got in contact with me late summer, he told me that he wanted a video showing off his riding abilities to help him get a bit more recognition, as Scottish junior is such a competitive scene. This is what we came up with, I wanted to go for a fast pace, upbeat style. Hopefully you enjoy it. In 2014, Calum’s first year of Junior, he got 3rd in the Scottish Championships and also placed 3rd overall in the SDA. Which are very solid results for his first season in junior, I’m looking forward seeing him in action again next season.

We filmed for three days, to create the video, firstly in Fife and then down around the Scottish Borders. We both agreed that this would be the best way to show off his riding skills as all of the tracks were really different, but it ended up just being a lot of banter and sick skids.

Words From Calum:
“Big thanks to Solid Bikes and StepUp Cycles for the support over this past season. Can’t wait to get the racing started again in 2015.”
