One Industries Vapor Kit – Review
Oli Carter has been running the Vapor short, the Vapor stratum short sleeve jersey and the zero tile glove this season, let’s see how they have stood up to the rigours of enduro racing.

For the past 6 months we have been giving the 2014 One Industries kit an absolute hammering…. Through mud, snow, ice, sun, dust and water this kit really has seen it all and held up a treat.
Being predominantly a moto brand, One Industries have made the leap to MTB very smoothly. Drawing on their moto style that we all love to produce some of the best looking kit out there.

My go to sizing is a 34 short with a medium shirt and gloves. The first time I put the kit on I did think I had been sent the wrong size… The shorts and jersey are longer than your average medium size kit. Think more down the line of American basketball kit…
The waist band was perfect on the shorts but I think a small jersey would be the one for next time. Saying that I was happy for the extra length when racing in Scotland through the torrential rain, it helped keep the mud out perfectly.

The Vapor shorts come with removable internal padded Lycra shorts, a nice touch. I have become very fond of my padded shorts over the summer, they really do save your bacon. The Vapor shorts are very light and durable, I would describe them as a beefed up surf short, perfect for long days in the saddle. When wet they don’t get heavy or rub on your legs and provide good coverage when not wearing knee pads. The 2 pockets are good but not huge, I managed to squeeze my phone, helmet cam and tools in on many occasions and rode without any discomfort.
The Vapor short sleeve jersey is the perfect summer riding top. With a tight mesh material on your back to wick away sweat and a thin and comfy front it really keeps you cool on those hot days. Unfortunately we didn’t have loads of them so I did wear a base layer or 2 on many occasions, not a problem, just something to keep in mind. Scuffing up against many trees hasn’t been a problem with no rips to show. The only wear I can see is from my backpack waist strap, the material has bobbled slightly from rubbing against the strap, not affecting performance in anyway.

The zero tile gloves are the best gloves I have used for years… Nice and thin and a perfect fit. It really doesn’t feel like your wearing them with the palm being a nice mix of grippy design and material. They might get a bit cold for winter but nothing that a pair of rubber gloves underneath can’t solve. Again they have stood the test of time, surprising considering the thinness of the material. Crashes, digging and general riding wear and tear has not been a problem for them and I think they will keep going for a good while yet.

The kit all works well together with many different colour ways available, you can chop and choose to get the perfect kit for your style of riding. Defiantly a brand that’s on the up, offering great looking and performing gear at a fair price.
If you like going against the grain and standing out then get over to oneindustrieseurope and get some sweet kit this winter, ready for those big days out next summer.
