With Ryan Villopoto making the move to Europe to compete in the Motocross World Champs we thought it was worth reminding ourselves of another epic US Vs Europe battle.

When James Stewart came to the UK in 2006 to compete in the MX Des Nations at Matterley Basin in Winchester it was promoted by the Americans as the event that would prove again, without doubt that the best the US had would beat the best that Europe had – Stefan Everts. It didn’t quite work out like that. Everts headed into retirement proving to the World that he was the most naturally gifted rider on the planet. A fine way to end a career.
