Red Bull Rampage – Qualifying Highlights from Run 2

After thunder, lightning and torrential rain shut down the Red Bull Rampage qualifiers after only one run on Friday, organisers, riders and spectators wondered if a second run was on the cards. When Saturday brought even heavier weather, including flash flooding in surrounding southern Utah, the forecast did not look promising.

Fortunately the Rampage gods then smiled down upon Virgin, Utah, with sun and scattered clouds, allowing riders to get their second runs in.

Graham Agassiz topped the results with an absolute stunner of a run. It’s not an exaggeration to say that his qualifier run will go down as one of the most exciting in Rampage history.

Jeff Herbertson rode like a Rampage veteran and catapulted himself into fourth place with a blistering run, complete with a canyon gap and a steezy backflip to punctuate his line.

Paul Basagoitia bounced back from a bad first run to land himself not only on the other side of his massive 60-foot canyon gap, but also in the finals. It’ll be exciting to see what the veteran rider does with his moment back on the mountain.
