Eurobike 13 – Morewood 275 Prototype

Morewood have made the jump. 275 is everywhere on the trail bikes but in DH we have only seen it in a handful of builds so far. Richard from Morewood thinks it could be the way to go, introducing the Makulu 275.

So, with new wheels comes some adjustment. Nice and slack this bike, 62.5 (the 26” Makulu is 64) and the BB has been lowered by 10mm.

This frame is a large, its looks massive and very long, because it is. Top tube is 22mm longer than the 26” bike.

Rolling with 203mm travel again and a whole 300g lighter.

Chainstays are 10mm longer to accommodate the bigger circles.

This is the first pre production bike, but it’s pretty much ready to roll so expect this to be available in the not too far distant future.
Completely fresh. Richard (Main man at Morewood) had been waiting for the tubes to arrive for a while with a few delays. So on Friday Richard got in his car, then a plane before grabbing a taxi to the depot to pick up the tubing and head back to the factory. No bags, just a bunch of tubing under his arm he headed back to the factory where the welder was poised waiting to stick it together. An overnighter on the CNC parts and painting on Sunday the bike was ready just in time for the show…
We will bring you some Morewood news in the next few days are we check out the rest of their range and have a chat with Richard.
